PHILOSOPHY OF THE PROGRAM

Our simple philosophy is a better conditioned athlete will play a more technically sound game. Incorporating the Speed Strength and Conditioning Program Soccer Performance Program will help players get fit, fast and first to the ball. They will win more loose balls, explode past their competition, shield off multiple defenders, and have a better chance of an injury free season. We will improve your players' work rate over 90 minutes of play. At the same time we will develop players who possess the skill and confidence to make a difference on the field.

PROJECTED GOALS

We will assess individual movement mechanics both with and without the ball, in order to identify specific abilities requiring improvements. In addition we integrate speed, agility, quickness, balance, strength, rhythm and co-ordination in an innovative and fun manner in order to develop a player's technique, skills, confidence and enjoyment of the game. Besides improved mechanics, our goal is to help players with their game knowledge to improve team dynamics on and off the field.

  1. Identify the skills and ability level of each individual. Develop a specific SAQ program tailored to individual needs
  2. Focus on improving each players ability to:
    • Start from various positions specific to a game situation
    • Accelerate
    • Decelerate
    • Straight ahead speed
    • Lateral speed and agility
    • Ability to change directions
  3. Integrate all seven speeds of soccer
    • Perceptual Speed
    • Anticipation Speed
    • Decision Making Speed
    • Reaction Speed
    • Movement Speed without the Ball
    • Action Speed with Ball
    • Game Action Speed
  4. Teach proper form, habits and execution of exercises
  5. Improve rhythm, balance, co-ordination, flexibility, strength and endurance
  6. Improve the coaches knowledge of SAQ to be able to implement it into their future programs
