VISION: Futuro will be referred to as the breeding ground for Ottawa soccer players. Training of top players will take centre stage as we produce players to play at the highest level possible.

PHILOSOPHY: Futuro players will play a style of JOGA BONITO (beautiful) soccer which emphasizes the following:
Possession based attacking strategy through the freedom of player movement with the emphasis of switching the ball across the width of the field to unbalance the opposition in order to create opportunities to play penetrating balls forward and to create confident individuals who can display their creativity and flair in the attacking third. Defensive strategy of getting every player behind the ball immediately after losing possession in order to win the ball back in the least amount of time to counter attack with speed and purpose.
We will teach our players to do this through emphasizing the following:
Attacking principles of play (width, depth/support, mobility, penetration and Improvisation)
Play out from the defending third with quality passing as a primary option
Combination play amongst the midfield players in the middle third of the field
Individual creativity by using 1v1 moves in the attacking third of the field
Defensive principles of play (delay, concentration, depth, balance, patience and restraint)
SIGNIFICANCE OF ACADEMY NAME: Futuro is a Portuguese word that means, "THE FUTURE". With the long term vision of producing players who can make a living in the game, our only focus in the academy will be to pave the way for our players to be successful where ever they end up with their playing careers.
Soccer is known worldwide as the beautiful game. It takes hard working, motivated, and committed young players to learn how to play soccer beautifully. There are many life skills learned by young players in training that are transferrable to all aspects of their lives. While our ambitions have no ceiling, the reality is that not all of our young players will earn a living playing professionally. Therefore, it is important that we focus on education as a viable alternative, and as a means to earning a living and contributing to our society. As Xavi of Barcelona says of La Massia, "Some youth academies worry about winning, we worry about education." It is no coincidence that one of the 7 Pillars is Educationally Sound. We will link the 6 Learning Skills and Work Habits from the Ontario Curriculum - Responsibility, Organization, Independent Work, Collaboration, Initiative and Self-Regulation - into our program. These learning skills have connections on and off the field with playing the beautiful game and they will be tied into the first 4 of 7 Pillars listed below. Focussing on Learning Skills allows players to focus on effort at school and not worry about grades - try hard and we will help players reach their potential.

Parmar Sports Training has partnered up with the Ottawa Royals Soccer Club to provide the most passionate and ambitious players in Eastern Ontario the opportunity to be a part of the FUTURO SOCCER ACADEMY. All of our players will be officially registered as members of the Ottawa Royals Soccer Club and will play in the EODSA League.
WHY THE OTTAWA ROYALS:
We chose to affiliate with the Ottawa Royals because of three reasons:
1. The Parmar Development Model is in sync with the Royals philosophy to follow the Canadian Soccer Association Long Term Player Development Model with programs that are offered from U4 - Women's and Men's Premier Teams.
2. Parmar Sports Training Inc. has been running development programs for the Ottawa Royals since the inception of the company and has built a great relationship with the club.
3. The Ottawa Royals dedication to technical development and fundamental skills has developed a club with a strong base and core philosophy with which Parmar Sports Training is proud to be associated with.
4. The Royals are one of the oldest and most respected clubs in Eastern Ontario spanning back to 1966.
As part of our academy mandate, to provide our players with professional playing opportunities we have developed relationships with professional clubs around the world including English Clubs Arsenal FC, Fulham FC, MK Dons, Spanish La Liga Club Espanyol, Dutch Club De Graafschap and Danish Women's Club Fortuna Hjorring in order to set up academy trials for our most talented players. As part of our development philosophy, we believe in providing the highest standard of coaching along with a properly structured program specific to each age group. Each program is structured around the Canadian Soccer Association Long Term Player Development Model.
FUTURO SOCCER ACADEMY will be lead by Academy Technical Director Sanjeev Parmar who is the founder of Parmar Sports Training Inc in 2003. Sanjeev and his staff have been an integral part of player development in Eastern Ontario with the development of numerous Provincial, Youth National Team and Academy players in Europe. Parmar has his CSA A License and a Masters in Human Kinetics.
"I am excited to finally have the ability to work with my staff to develop our own style of player through the Parmar Methodology which is based around our 'Seven Pillars'. We will follow the Long Term Player Development Model in order to produce the highest level players that we can". EMPOWERING OUR PLAYERS TO BECOME A BETTER PLAYER Futuro Soccer Academy has partnered with iSoccer as our National Player Development Partner to provide our players the tools and motivation to raise their technical level to the highest possible standard while having more fun. We will work closely with iSoccer, the leader in technical assessment and online youth soccer training software, to deliver a highly effective and motivating program for our players. iSoccer gives FUTURO players the ability to look past the win loss column and focus on the players technical development. With iSoccer, players have the tools to develop a strong foundation that is vital to building confidence, having fun andseeing real improvement. The ability to assess training methodology on a broadscale has never been this easy and effective.
We have structured Futuro Soccer Academy based upon the WELLNESS TO WORLD CUP - LONG TERM PLAYER DEVELOPMENT MODEL by the Canadian Soccer Association. All of our programs have been structured with the long term vision of THE 10 YEAR RULE. Scientific research has determined that it takes at least 10 year and 10, 000 hours of training for athletes in any sport to reach elite performance levels.
