Galaktic 3V3SoccerFest is a charity event created so kids can enjoy the speed and thrill of small sided games while raising money to benefit kids in need. All net proceeds go to a charity that has been created to support kids in our community. This year we met our goal of raising over $5000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa Scholarship Program so a qualified boy and girl can attend post secondary school and realize their dreams.
Houghton College plays in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) which is an organization comprised of approximately 280 institutions across the country. We are members of the American Mideast Conference which for men's soccer is arguably the most competitive conference in the country.
Houghton has continued to be nationally competitive and in the hunt each year.
One of the things I am excited about regarding our relationship with Parmar Sports Training is the potential for future collaborative efforts. My hope is to continue to be able to participate with Sanjeev with some of his training programs. Sanjeev has been to Houghton a few times to assist us during our intensive pre-season period, and has offered excellent insight and assistance in training our players. Additionally, we have had players attend Houghton that have come directly through our association with Parmar Sports Training. Chris Davis will be junior next season, Jonathan Brooks will be a senior, and Erik Lefebvre just graduated this past season. All three of these players were identified through Parmar Sports Training. On a side note…. Erik Lefebvre just signed a professional contract to play with the Charlotte Eagles in the USL-2. This is the same club that Sanjeev played with immediately after he graduated from Houghton. I am excited about the potential of future athletes coming out of our Parmar Sports Training to attend Houghton College and play for me. The advantage I see for players coming out of Sanjeev's program is the advanced technical training that they will have. Most clubs are primarily concerned about simply winning games, while Sanjeev is much more concerned about the development of the total player – leading to better developed players, more capable athletes, and better thinkers of the game. Ultimately, I envision athletes coming through Parmar Sports Training as being more capable of making the adjustment to the next level of soccer.
The March Break Week was awesome, and I am looking forward to a continued partnership between Parmar Sports Training and Houghton Men's soccer.
We are excited about our new partnership we have formed with the Eastern Ontario Resource Centre. For the summer of 2010, Parmar Sports Training Inc. will provide newly migrated children who are passionate about the game of soccer an opportunity to participate in our summer camps for free. We along with the EORC have come up with a criteria for selecting four under privileged children (2 girls / 2 boys) each week during our summer camps with the opportunity of participating in our High Performance Soccer Camps around the city of Ottawa. We will continue this partnership for all of our seasonal programs going forward and provide two openings per program for under privileged kids who want to improve and become better soccer players.
The Western Canada Soccer Showcase is Western Canada's oldest and premier Showcase tournament for girls who have aspirations to play in the US and Canada. In the last 2 years, many players have been identified and received scholarships, based directly on their play at the Showcase. One player was identified as having dual citizenship with Colombia and because of her play at the Showcase, was connected with the Colombian U17 National Team. Although she was not selected for the Provincial Team, this identified player, played against Canada in New Zealand at the inaugural U17 World Cup in 2008.
As the organizers of the WCSS are all elite female players, both National Team players and professional players, through working with him, we know first hand the quality of training, professionalism and integrity that Sanjeev Parmar brings to the field. Because of this we have invited Sanjeev out to the Showcase this year for a pre-event with top Western Canadian high school players and have invited his participation in the Showcase itself. We are very excited to have created this partnership with Sanjeev, who we believe is one of the most innovative, up and coming, and best young coaches in all of Canada.

Our staff is excited to have such a great partnership with Sanjeev and Parmar Sports Training. I have know Sanjeev for a long time having played with him at Houghton College. He has done a tremendous job impacting the game of soccer in Canada and abroad. We have a lot of similar ideas concerning the game of soccer and development of players. Our number one goal at Brilla is to continue to improve ourselves, our players, and the game of soccer daily. Aligning with Sanjeev and Parmar Sports Training will continue to help us develop players whether they are just starting their soccer career or they are playing with our PDL team.
